The Good Taste Series
I hope you are well, and you are enjoying your new week! For me it's a busy but so creative period, because of the upcoming Christmas! I am planning some Christmas projects, and also I am planning my Christmas vacations! Today, I really want to share with you one unique event that I had the opportunity to attend 2 weeks ago, in one of my favorite hotels in Zurich, Park Hyatt. It's always a pleasure to visit that hotel, and hopefully this weeks I visited a lot, because always something interesting happens there! Today I am going to write you about "The Good Taste Series", a cooking competition, which allows Hyatt Chefs from all over the world to show their culinary skills in a friendly contest. What started at Hyatt in the USA as an annually held event and a best in class chef competition, has now been expanded this year into a global Hyatt affair!
The goal of “The Good Taste Series” is to emphasise the group's exceptional food philosophy and to foster internal talents.
The 5 participated chefs were : Vasily Bochanov (Hyatt Regency Ekateringburg), Christophe Scheller (Park Hyatt Vendome) Jonas Wuestner ( Hyatt Regency Cologne ), Vikki Kuma (Grand Hyatt Goa), Sanjeev Poshirkar ( Grand Hyatt Mumbai).
The concept was, that they prepared for us and the jury each participate a plate based on fish and another based on meat. The super difficult part, was that they were informed about the 2 plates only one night before the competition, and they had only one night to prepare and think their plates.
I found every plate so delicious and very intresting, and I thought that it was so difficult for the jury to choose the 2 winners.
Finally, the two chefs who won the contest on Friday and are allowed to the global show-down of Hyatt’s best chefs in Mexico, in early 2018 are Jonas Wüstner (Hyatt Regency Cologne) and Christophe Scheller (Park Hyatt Vendome).
It was an amazing night and I hope to visit Park Hyatt Zurich again very soon!
